Police Rescue ‘Bird Woman’ From Lagos Mob

There was chaos, Wednesday, in Ajegunle area of Lagos state after a 'bird' transformed into an old woman, with her confessing to being a witch.

The old woman who escaped lynching was reported to have confessed to the shocked crowd that she was on her way back to Ibadan, Oyo State from Lagos where they had been sent on a mission (as a bird) with two others when they missed their track, and started hovering in the area until it was morning, adding that she fell because she was tired.

According to eye-witnesses report three black birds were seen at about 7am, flying side‑by‑side along Old Ojo Road, when suddenly one of them landed on a moving pick‑up van owned by Eko Electricity Distribution Company. When the crowd finally gathered to get a glimpse and question her she was discovered to have had a bruise on her forehead with which she landed.
The woman who was taken to the the Baale of Ajeromi, where she reportedly confessed to killing her husband through witchcraft and was taken away by the Policemen from Layeni Police Division.
However Police sources said that since she has not committed any crime, and stating the law does not recognize witchcraft, she will be released to any of her family members should they should up.
