Albert Nana Asante, a 28-year-old journalist, with a local
radio station in the Ashanti region of Ghana allegedly committed suicide
in his room.
Albert reportedly drank a substance suspected to be poison.

The deceased was set to get married on the 18th of May 2014.
Before his untimely death, he was the news editor at Time FM in Obuasi and a reporter for the Chronicle Newspaper.
According to the General Manager of Time FM, Richard Gyamfi, they had
received information on Sunday that Albert was contemplating suicide
and they tried to reach him but their efforts proved abortive as all
calls to his phone were not answered. They later got information that he
had gotten in touch with somebody who he told where he was. On getting
there, they found him already dead.
The reason why he decided to end his life is yet unknown.
However, his post on his Facebook page at 12:00am on Monday reads, "sorry
for the pain I caused each and every one, but I think the time is due.
Elder Wampiah seek for forgiveness. Gina I love and care". The posts was also repeated on his Whatssap status around the same time.
Police in Obuasi have already began investigation.
