There was pandemonium yesterday afternoon at the Iyana Adeoyo end of Ring Road, Ibadan, Oyo State capital, when an unidentified man in his thirties, attempted suicide by throwing himself at oncoming vehicles.

The man, an okada rider attempted to take his life after officers of the Oyo State commercial vehicle registration unit apprehended him and impounded his bike because his papers were fake.
According to him, he was not aware that his papers were fake.
He was said to have pleaded with the officers but unfortunately, his pleas fell on deaf ears.
Out of desperation, he started flinging himself at oncoming vehicles. He first flung himself in front of a trailer and then an SUV, but he was rescued each time by onlookers.
He then reportedly went into shock and started foaming from the mouth, after which some policemen arrived and carried him to the Adeoyo State Hospital.
