Prophet TB JOSHUA Speaks on 2015Presidential Elections

This interview is far-back 9 months old but is very relevant to Us
now...... Prophet T.B. Joshua granted a rare interview to Nigeria's
New Telegraph newspaper in March 2014 in which he made several
revealing statements concerning the February 2015 elections.

TB Joshua warns politicians not to derail the nation's democracy. He
spoke with TAI ANYANWU.
Here is the transcript of the interview:
There are so many troubles in Nigeria today - problems of insecurity,
threats to national unity, political maneuverings by rival political
parties.

What are your comments concerning these troubled times in the country?
It is a normal thing for a country that has a bright future, God's
promise. A bright future always attracts persecution, condemnation and
enemies who realise that the future is bright - you see a lot of
pressure and threats. The country is on the path to greatness; it will
compete with any Western nation in the future and the Western nations
know that Nigeria is
going to be a giant. That is why there support in these trying times
is needed. There is no country that has not passed through this. All
the countries that have become great today all passed through
turbulence that nearly consumed them. How we manage the situation
matters. If we don't manage it well, we will not
witness the greatness. It is not that the greatness would not come but
that would not be for our generation. The greatness will still come
but for the coming generation. With the turbulence being experienced
in
some states of the federation and the election around the corner next
year, how do you think this will play out?
Elections will not happen in some states because of the frequent
attacks. This could affect between three to four states. The states
would be a no-go area due to violence and elections would not take
place in those states unless we move closer to God. We must intensify
our prayers. This is what God has showed me and you can imagine what
would happen if elections don't hold in those states.
It would have a great implication for our democracy.

How should we manage it?
We should not allow the politicians to politicise all the areas of our
lives. For example if you want to enjoy anything, you have to be part
of
their party. For example, unless you are part of their party, you
cannot benefit from things that should be available to you as a
citizen.
Look at electricity, health etc - they have politicised everything.
Religion has been politicised. Even Christianity has been politicised.
They go to church; the pulpit is where they campaign now. Now they go
to churches and mosques to bomb them. These are people in church who
had gone to pray for themselves. Must everybody become a politician?
How we handle the situation at hand now matters. If the situation is
not well managed, we will find
ourselves postponing the great Nigeria. In other words, we would not
witness it but it would be witnessed by our children. Don't let us
politicise every area of our lives. Let us carefully play our politics
with keen decency because 2015 matters in the history
of Nigeria. It is either we cross the bridge successfully or it
collapses. A good Nigerian that wants this greatness should be able to
pay
whatever proper price that is needed to be paid to make this dream of
a great Nigeria possible. If your being in politics will make this
greatness come, then join. From now to 2015
is a very important period in the history of Nigeria and if we don't
manage the situation well, our democracy would be rubbished.

What do you mean by 'our democracy
would be rubbished'?
A situation where there would be lawlessness in the sense that the law
would not be capable of guiding us because of the pros (for) and cons
(against) as contained in the law. That would now take so much time
which would lead Nigeria to a discussion table. Where would you and I
be at that time?

What can you say about APC and PDP?
In body we can call it APC and PDP but in spirit, they are one and the
same thing. I am yet to see the difference. I am looking forward
to seeing the difference.

With the situation in the country today and the agitation on 2015,
what advice do you have for politicians not to create more tension in
the polity and what is the way
out?
The advice - many of us need to leave politics while many others need
to join in order to inject fresh blood. The people that need to leave
politics are not the common people. This is in order to avert the
disaster that could
rubbish our democracy.

Buhari would’ve done better for Niger Deltathan Jonathan – Asari Dokubo

Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, one of the
biggest supporters and kinsman of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan,
has declared that the president has lost the support of his political
base, the South-south and the South-East owing to the failure of his
government to deliver on its promises.
Dokubo-Asari, at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, said that it
would be tough for Jonathan to win the presidential election in 2015
if he decides to run based on the poor
showing of his administration.
He said that his decision to speak out was for him and others who are
ardent supporters of Jonathan not to be blamed for his failure in
2015.
He said: "I want to start with an Ijaw proverb, which says: the eyes
watched its seven children to death. Instead of advising them, it was
just looking at them until they died, while the mouth talked its only
child to life and success.
"We have continued as Ijaw people and the entire Niger Delta and
South-South to support the presidency of President Goodluck Jonathan,
but a time has come when silence cannot be
golden.
"We mainly speak out in issues that are very critical to the survival
of our people, the survival of the people of the South-South and the
South-East, which happens to be the political base of Goodluck
Jonathan.
"Jonathan is surrounded by very greedy people who are only in the
Presidency to enrich themselves at the expense of Goodluck
himself.
"This brings us to another Kalabari proverb, which says: where there
are elders, a goat cannot be allowed to deliver tied to a stick.
"If we don't talk and we continue to brush it aside, tomorrow we will
be blamed and people will say: Mujahid Dokubo-Asari was around when
Goodlcuk Jonathan was president and he didn't talk.
"Them I will be an accomplice and accessory after the fact….
"It is alarming because the South-South must have its uninterrupted
eight years tenure, which is constitutional.
"But with how things are going under Jonathan's watch, we are afraid
that we may not be able to have our eight years tenure because there
will be no magic about it if it is going to be one
man one vote."
Dokubo-Asari said he will continue to speak out despite the fact that
he had benefitted from Jonathan, adding that one of those causing
trouble for the President remains the Minister
of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Godsday Orubebe. He said: "I have
benefited immensely from Goodluck Jonathan with my stake but benefit
alone is not enough to make me to keep quiet
when the period is very challenging for our people.
"So, some of us are tempted to ask this question: why are all these
things happening?
"Why has the President allow some ministers like Godsday Orubebe to
continue in government?
"Everyday people die on the East-West Road. "If Orubebe is incompetent
as he has shown himself to be, he should be removed. "Nobody voted for
Orubebe.
"And why is Orubebe so important to the President that he can't remove
him even in the bface of his obvious incompetence and several
allegation to corruption?
"We feel very ashamed and embarrassed. "Orubebe was one of us.
"He was attending meetings with us, sleeping in the ground with
us,entering night bus with us and we nominated him to be appointed a
minister.
"We have gone to him and complained to him that we don't like they way
things are going in his ministry and told him that if the President
leaves in 2015 without the completion of the
East-West Road, we are finished.
"And the man keeps telling us there is no money.
"When IBB (former military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida) was
there, there was money.
"When Abacha was there, there was money.
"When others were there, there was money.
"How come the money disappeared when
Jonathan got there?
"Jonathan and orubebe will account for the death in the East-West Road."
On the face-off between Jonathan and former President Olusegun
Obasanjo, Dokubo-Asari said there was no need for it. He said that no
matter what Jonathan feels, he still remains a beneficiary of
Obasanjo's large
heartedness.
He said: "First, there was no need for Goodluck Jonathan to disagree
with Olusegun Obasanjo.
"I don't like Obasanjo.
"I don't like his face.
"I hate him.
"But he was instrumental in bringing Goodluck
Jonathan to power.
"And the greedy people around Jonathan have not managed him enough to
the extent that the President and people around him will allow
Jonathan to disagree with Obasanjo openly
"And if you check, all the people who supported Goodluck Jonathan and
fought to bring him to power, have openly disagreed with him. "What
was the cause of these disagreements?
"These are the questions we want to put to the president. "Some people
say Obasanjo is manipulating Goodluck Jonathan, that is why Jonathan
is
disagreeing with him and we ask: what has Goodluck Jonathan's
government achieved to show that it is a departure from other
governments that have existed since 1956? "For us, nothing has
changed. "It is still business as usual. "So what are the advice that
Obasanjo gave to Jonathan that were so difficult for him to fulfill,
that made him decide to fall out with
Obasanjo? "Obasanjo was instrumental and manipulated the process that
illegally removed Diepreye Alamieyeseigha as governor of Bayelsa State
and installed Jonathan as governor, made him vice president, fought
for him to become acting
president and also fought for him to become president of Nigeria.
Apart from Obasanjo, there are so many people who supported Goodluck
Jonathan, some have been pushed out by those who were not there to
give him any support, while some others are trapped and they cannot
talk.
I have a feeling that Fulani man Buhari would have done more for
Niger-delta than Jonathan has done so far Jonathan has done nothing
for Niger Delta actually. It is getting more and
more difficult to support him, the second niger bridge is another issue.

President Jonathan: A Litany Of FailedPromises By Babatunde Raji Fashola

My duty today is simple; yet it is one that excites me very deeply
because as I welcome you all to Lagos and to the first Presidential
Convention of the All Progressives Congress, I am confident that I am
welcoming you to change.
I welcome you to a change that is for the better.
I welcome you to change that will liberate Nigeria from inefficient
national management. I welcome you all delegates from across Nigeria,
to Lagos, where the first building
blocks of the country now known as Nigeria were laid.
I welcome you back to the epicenter of
nationalism and the home of change, where our pre-eminent nationalists
forced a change from colonial government to a Nigerian
government.
I welcome you all back to where the promise of Nigeria was hatched, as
a land of endless opportunities.
Unfortunately, the bridge between us and our opportunities have been
shattered by a series of broken promises by a party, Government
and President for whom promises mean nothing.
I have made it my task to record as many of the promises made by
President Jonathan and his party. The lists of promises are as long as
the list of disappointments. All over Nigeria, he made promises to us and
as far as Lagos is concerned, I can tell you that those promises
remain unfulfilled without explanation.
I do not know what all experiences from your various states are, but I
will repeat here, some of the promises that I recorded that he made
across Nigeria and ask you to tell us whether
they have been fulfilled.
1. To complete the second River Niger
bridge before the expiration of the
tenure
2. To make the Minister of Works to
immediately start repairs of the road
leading to Murtala Mohammed
International Airport
3. To transform all major routes in
Damaturu to federal roads
4. To assist in resuscitating all the
collapsed industries in Kano state
5. To set up a committee to review Federal government landed
properties in Lagos, hand over those that should and retain those that
should be in possession of the Federal Government.
6. To give Sokoto-Kotangora road
unfettered attention
7. To deliver stable, constant supply of
electricity
8. To ensure that Nigerians do not use
generators more than two times in a
week
9. To explore the coal deposits in Benue and Kogi states for improved
power supply
10. To reduce the importation of generators at least 90 percent in four years.
11. To address the issues of unemployment through diversification of
the nation's economy to that of sustainable agricultural development
across the 36 states of federation
12. To create 1.5 million jobs in 2 years

Today, we must rebuild the bridge that will bring change to Nigeria
and more Nigerians closer to the promise of Nigeria.
Today you will have the opportunity to change broken promises to
fulfilled promises and rescue Nigeria from mismanagement and bad
governance. Our party has carefully developed a Manifesto through
which the broken and unfulfilled promises made to the people of
Nigeria can be
actualized.
The Manifesto is anchored on changing
insecurity to security.
That Manifesto will change a dysfunctional government to an efficient
Government. That Manifesto will change underdevelopment
to rapid and accelerated development.
That Manifesto will change our poor
circumstances to a prosperous dawn.
That Manifesto will change Nigeria's global reputation from its
current dismal status to one of international respect and global
admiration.
One man will bear the responsibility and enormous burden for
implementing that Manifesto and the change that it brings.
All of you, our delegates are the men and women to whom history has
been so kind to bring to this day, to this State, to this venue and to
this moment, to choose that man with
your votes. Let me be clear. What you are gathered to do is epical.
What you are gathered to do is not easy. Change is not easy.
What you are gathered to do is important to the whole world.
Let me remind you that we gather to vote to make a choice that will
alter the way Nigeria develops and in that way, Africa develops.
You are gathered to elect the potential leader of Africa's most populous nation.
You are gathered to elect the Ambassador of Change.
Please do so wisely, decorously and with a sense of duty.
God bless you all as you cast the votes to change Nigerians for the
better. Long live the
All Progressives Congress.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Thank you.

Do Not Vote For Anyone Who Promises To End Boko Haram Insurgency After Assuming Power – Former Chief Of Staff To Jonathan

Former Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr Mike Oghiadomhe, has urged Nigerians not to vote for aspirants who say they will end the Boko Haram insurgency in the country only when they become the President.

Oghiadomhe, who answered questions from journalists in Auchi, Edo State, during the just concluded senatorial primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it was hypocritical for any Nigerian to say he would only suggest ways of ending insurgency when he gets to power.

“You don’t know who the next victim of the insurgents will be.

We cannot take insurgency to be against a particular set of people or particular person in government or a particular government.

Insurgency is against Nigeria and Nigerians,” he said.

‘It’s Now A Crime For Both Public & Private Hospitals To Reject Accident Victims

A civil society organisation, Health Sector Reform Coalition, has commended the signing into law of the National Health Bill, warning that henceforth “there should be no more rejection of accident and emergency victims by both public and private hospitals; no excuse for failure of health services for Nigerians.”

The new health law, it also said, “Provides for severe punishment and imprisonment for removal of human organs and prohibits reproductive and thedefileutic cloning of human kind.”
The HSRC also hailed the National Assembly for the quick passage of the bill, saying the development showed that members of the legislature were truly representing the people who elected them.

Protocol
I heartily congratulate Gen. Muhammadu
Buhari for emerging victorious in this keenly
contested presidential primary election of our
great Party, the APC. You ran a spirited campaign, and since the
delegates have spoken, you fully deserve the victory.
I am very confident that you will provide the
needed leadership to turn this country around.
I have no doubt that you will work with
dedicated and qualified Nigerians to protect
our citizens, improve our economy, create
jobs, improve education, reform governance
and fight corruption. You will indeed bring the
change Nigerians have been yearning for. Once
more, congratulations.
I congratulate the other contestants, namely
Governors Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Rochas
Okorocha as well as the erudite Sam Nda-Isiah.
You have all demonstrated your commitment to democracy by participating in this
transparent process and by campaigning
vigorously across this country.
I thank our delegates for their sacrifices and
their commitment to democracy. In particular,
I thank those who voted for me for your faith
in me. However, since we came up short, have
to now rally behind General Buhari to help him prevail in the coming
Presidential election.
The APC has
demonstrated, through the transparent process, the Party's commitment
to democracy and rule of law. It has demonstrated its respect for
people and their choice through the ballot box.

I sincerely thank the Convention Committee
for putting together a hitch-free convention.
My dear friends, we have voted, a winner has
emerged. I pledge my commitment to this
Party, and to campaign vigorously for our
candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and all APC candidates to ensure
victory in the 2015 elections.
I call on all other contestants and our party's rank and file to unite
behind our candidates at all levels to ensure that the PDP is
defeated, so Nigerians can have real change.

Long live APC!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
Thank you all and God bless!

Jimi Agbaje is too a dishonest person to beLagos Governor – Obanikoro

Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has labelled Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate
in Lagos state, Jimi Agbaje as dishonest for
claiming they agreed over the excess votes
during their party's governorship primary.
It would be recalled that Obanikoro described
the whole governorship primary electoral
exercise a sham after the total number of
votes cast, 863, was higher than the total
number of accredited delegates, 806.
Reacting to Agbaje's bid to play down the 'sham'
by their party, Obanikoro wrote on Twitter
today: "Jimi Agbaje should not in desperation
to defend Monday's immoral and unethical
show of shame, further tarnish his reputation."
He then followed that with this. "The claim by
Agbaje that we were in agreement over the
excess votes is dishonest and unbecoming of a
man who wants to be Lagos governor."
"For the records, there was never any
agreement between me or any aspirant or
anyone whosoever to accommodate any excess
votes," he tweeted.
"If at all there was any agreement, it was an
agreement between Bode George and Jimi
Agbaje to compromise the outcome of the
primaries!"

Buhari’s Emotional Speech At APCNational Convention

The third national convention and
presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress went under way
in the early hours of Thursday at the Teslim
Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Five aspirants of the party, who include a
former Head of State, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari; a former Vice-
President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Rabiu
Kwankwaso, publisher of Leadership newspapers, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, and
Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
Although known to be taciturn, Buhari sent
the crowd of delegates and party members
agog with his speech delivered in less than
10 minutes.
He said, "I have always served Nigeria to
the best of my ability. I have always tried
to give more to the nation than it has given
me. This is the principle of service that has
guided my public life. Thus, I am not a rich person. I can't give you
a pocketful of dollars or naira to purchase your support.
Even if I could, I would not do so. The fate of this nation is not up for sale.
"What I will give you, and this nation is all of my strength,
commitment, sweat and toil in the service of the people. What I can
give you is my all.
"I do not intend to rule Nigeria. I want
to democratically govern it with your help.
I seek a Nigeria where Christians and Muslims may practise their
faiths in peace and security; a Nigeria that is just and
where corruption no longer trespasses into
our institutions and national behavior and a
Nigeria where our diversity could be used
for our national prosperity.
"Nigeria is our home. Let us now turn it into the great nation we know
it can and should be."
Buhari's speech drew a loud ovation from
the crowd, some of who gave him a standing ovation.
In what could pass for where the sympathy
of the governors and the APC national
leadership lies, the VIP section, where the
party's past and current national chairmen,
Chief Bisi Akande and Chief John
Odigie-Oyegun, respectively sat went
agog after Buhari made his famous speech.
When called to make his speech, Okorocha,
who said he has the capability to lead the
country, added that he remained the youngest of the contestants and
thus should be giving the votes to lead the party in next year's
general election.
But the crowd beside the VIP section busted into chants in Yoruba, saying
"Arugbo la fe, arugbo la fe," meaning "we
want an old man."
Specifically, Okorocha had told the crowd
that Buhari is above 70 years old, even as
he said Atiku is 63 while he gave the age of Nda-Isaiah as 58 and that
of Kwnkwaso as 58, saying that he is only 52.
Okorocha said, "Buhari is 73, Atiku is 68, Nda-Isiaih is 58, Kwankwaso is 58,
Obama is 53, Rochas is only 52 years old.
Nigeria of today is different of Nigeria of
the 60s, I offer myself to run for the exalted office of the president
in order to save the suffering masses."
Atiku said he had been in the vanguard against
bad governance and military dictatorship,
recalling how state agents stormed his house and tied up his son and
killed six policemen
during an attack on his home in Adamawa
during the military era.
He said, "Nigerians are tired to see Nigerians
slaughtered everyday and the government is
unable to do anything about it. Nigerians want
change because they pay
for electricity and get darkness. Nigerians
are tired of the dangerous PDP mathematics,
where seven is greater than 20 and six is
greater than 19, where judgesare beating up
thugs, where the Speaker and parliament
members are tear gassed.
"They are tired of where our police force and
army now butt of jokes in beer parlours and
are being compared to hunters; where our
roads are death traps.
This is the reason why Nigerians want change,
we can give Nigerians the change it deserves.
You people came out because you believe in
change, you believe in a nation bound in
freedom, peace and unity, you believe that our Nation can serve as a
leader in Africa."
