Plateau State is one of the most
beautiful in Nigeria but some reports emanating from that place of
recent have not been palatable at all. The LEADERSHIP has reported that a
17-year-old wife,
named Maryam Yahaya has killed her husband, a 26-year-old butcher named
Lawal Bala from Gangare, Jos North Local Government. She was paraded by
the Plateau State Police Command and according to the State Police
Commissioner, Mr. Chris Olakpe, a blood-stained knife, bedsheet and some
cooked noodles were recovered and used as exhibit.
He said that on the 9th of July, a
distress call was received by Supol Baba Musa, the officer in charge of
the Gangare area that one Lawal Bala has been murdered in cold blood in
his house by an unknown individual. The young wife was arrested and in
the course of the interrogation, she confessed to have murdered her
husband by delivering a fatal stab to his neck while he was sleeping in
his bedroom. She stated that her late husband was fond of subjecting her
to ‘rigourous’ sex every day .
She said that her husband would come home
and have sex with her more than six times a day . She then pleaded with
the government to release her as she is carrying a two-month pregnancy
and that she has now turned a new leaf .
