Father Who Padlocked His Son's Mouth, Beat Him To Death Is In Prison

30-year-old, Chris Elvis who padlocked his four-year-old son's mouth then beat him to death has been remanded in prison by an Ebute Meta Magistrate's court, Lagos state.
Apparently the man padlocked his son's mouth preventing him from crying so that neighbors would not hear while he was beating the boy.
The incident was said to have happened at their home on Adetola Adelaja Street, Meiran, Lagos State.
Chris who claimed his son, Godrich Elvis was evil and responsible for his misfortune beat him to death, also used hot pressing iron on him then locked the dead boy in one of the rooms in his house and lied to the police when they came searching after they had been informed.
The magistrate, Ms S.O Solebo, said Chris should be remanded in prison pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution.
Chris who has been acting strange trying to convince to the police the police that he's not mentally stable caused a drama in the court after the murder charge was read to him, and was shown the charge sheet, he took the paper and put it in his mouth.
The magistrate who was however not moved by his action warned him to behave well as he was in a court.
The murder charge reads, "That you, Chris Elvis, on February 10, 2014, about 5pm at 7, Adetola Adelaja street, Meiran Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill one Godrich Elvis, aged 4 years by using hot pressing iron to burn him all over his body and putting him inside a plastic drum and locked the drum with padlock and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011."
His plea was not taken. The matter was adjourned till April 2, 2014.
