Activists Visit Benin Republic Graveyard Of Woman Murdered By Lagos Vigilantes For Allegedly Stealing 50 Cents Worth Of Habanero Pepper

A non-governmental organization, “Women Arise”  led by its executive, Joe Okei-Odumakin today visited the graveyard of the murdered victim in the Ejigbo pepper torture and sodomy case which occurred in February 2013
The graveyard site is located in Ajase area near Porto-Novo in Benin Republic. Juliana Agonman died after vigilantes from the Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) abducted her tortured, sodomized and raped her for allegedly stealing pepper worth 50 cents from a local market, her father, Mr. Freeman Agonman, a palmwine tapper was also reunited with his family in the village.
Mr. Agonman said his return to the village would enable him look after Juliana's three kids in the village as well as take care of mother of the deceased.
At the graveyard, Odumakin pledged commitment to ensure that Juliana’s killers, some of whom are already in police custody would face the full wrath of the law.
