Justin
Combs, a bench-warming defensive back at UCLA, posted a heartwarming,
father-son picture of his famous dad on Instagram, one day after Diddy
was arrested for allegedly roughing up a Bruins coach.
Diddy on Monday tussled with UCLA strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi, who had been riding the young Combs during workouts.
“I don’t care if your dad’s here,” Alosi yelled at Justin, TMZ reported Tuesday.
“This is UCLA. I’m going to treat you just like I treat everyone else.”
Diddy
reportedly felt that the coach, a former Jets assistant, was trying to
embarrass him and his son, leading to the confrontation later at Alosi’s
office.
It has been reported that Diddy allegedly took a swing at Alosi with a weight-room kettlebell during the scuffle.
But
the UCLA sports-news Web site BruinReportOnline reported that Diddy had
been separated from Alosi by interns and taken to a nearby weight room
where he grabbed the weight and swung it at the young men.
The rap star was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, battery and making a criminal threat.
Diddy
told Alosi he was “going to f–k him up” during the melee, according to
TMZ, leading to that last charge. He was released on $160,000 bail.
Alosi
is best known to football fans for a 2010 incident when on the
sidelines at a Jets game he tripped Miami Dolphins player Nolan Carroll
running by.
Diddy’s rep said Tuesday that the dad got physical as an act of self defense.
“The
various accounts of the event and charges that are being reported are
wholly inaccurate,” Diddy’s spokeswoman said. “What we can say now is
that any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to
protect himself and his son. We are confident that once the true facts
are revealed, the case will be dismissed.”
