Kano State Governor cuts salaries of politicians

Following the current economic crisis in the state, The governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje has directed the reducing of wages and allowances of political office holders by 50%.

The politicians, whose salaries are in trouble, are the governor, Deputy Governor, Hafiz Abubakar, all the 13 commissioners, special advisers and others.

Ganduje announced on June 19, that the state administration will no longer give free food and drinks during Ramadan fast as had been the practice in the previous times.

The governor speaking while inaugurating the new commissioners lamented that the state and the nation are facing cash crunch and need to cut the pay of officials and appointees.

He said the action was part of the forfeit he and others will fund for the survival of the administration.

Ganduje assured residents that when things get better politicians will be rewarded for their losses.

North Korea has created a wonder drug which they say it only does not cure Aids, but also eradicates Ebola and cancer. According to them, the miracle cure consists of ginseng grown from fertiliser and a mix of other ingredients- but did not reveal the special combination.

The dictatorship, which is known for making far-fetched claims about its achievements, says that the medicine will apparently be injectable and will be known by the name of Kumdang-2. But reports according to international media have doubted the claims.

Photos: A Berlin man has become the first in Germany to give birth to a baby

A German man finally gives birth to a bouncy baby boy! A female transgender to male, but kept his/her female reproductive system.


The baby boy was born on March 18th this year in a home birth, as hospitals are required to write the name of the mother in their records when a child is born. The baby was delivered with the help of a midwife in the Neukölln area of Berlin.

On government records the new father, who is transgender, is registered as a man. This makes him the first male in Germany to give birth, Berlin newspapers reported on Monday.

Kunle Afolayan‘s October 1 got 8 nominations including Best Director and Best Film while A Place in the Stars, Love or Something Like That, Invasion 1897 and Iyore all picked up nominations.


Box-office monster, 30 Days in Atlanta was nominated in the Best Comedy Film category.
The awards ceremony will take place in South Africa in September 2015.

Britains fattest man dies at age 33 (photos)

Britain's fattest man, Carl Thompson has died. The 33 year old (pictured right in his home in May) had been confined to his home in Dover, Kent, for more than a year, relying on carers to bathe him after being unable to move around on his own due to his 65 stone weight.

Carl (pictured left as a young boy) said he began eating heavily as a means of coping with his grief after he lost his mum in 2012. He pleaded for professional help and vowed to shed weight after being told by doctors his ill-health would kill him. Unfortunately, he died this morning. RIP, Carl!
