It is the event football fans have been
awaiting for the past four years! And its finally here. The 2014 FIFA
World Cup starts today!
The games will kick off with a
star-studded opening ceremony at the Itaquerão stadium in Sao Paulo,
Brazil. International superstars including Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, and Claudia Leitte will be performing (JLo had earlier stated that she couldn’t make it for the performance, however; she has reportedly stated she will indeed be present at the ceremony).
After the ceremony, the opening match between host country, Brazil, and Croatia will take place.
A total of 32 countries are participating in the tournament and are divided into 8 groups as follows:
