Bribery officials are common for Nigerian roads. Despite
fears of the social media and of consequences, they keep doing their
business. A fresh example appeared on April 6, 2014, Sunday.
The footage below was taken at the popular Ojota Bus stop in Lagos.
It shows how officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority
(LASTMA) coerce drivers to part with bribes.
“Talk to us and don’t delay your passengers”
LASTMA officer telling passengers to return into the bus that the
case was “settled”. Bus conductor and driver arranging the “settlement”
Driver says
“Oya follow me”
The exchange, the style…
Okay!
Later, in a bus, the driver would say that the sum was N1,000.
