Having the same name as the deadliest terror group in the world right now must have its repercussions.
Belgian chocolate maker "ISIS" has announced that due to a sharp decline in sales resulting from sharing the same name with Islamic terror group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS), it is rebranding as "Libeert".
The company was founded in 1923 as "Italo Suisse" but changed the named to "ISIS" last year when they dissociated from both Italy and Switzerland.
But after the rise of the terror group in 2014, the chocolatier has once again changed its name to remove any possible association with the insurgent ISIS.
"When we saw that the orders, which were planned to get in at the beginning of September for this Christmas didn't come in from the States or the UK, we asked 'What's going on here? And they said yes, we have orders but the name ISIS is actually disturbing because our consumers are very upset with that name," director of the company Ignance Libeert explained.
The change in name has since been effected on their website and will continue with subsequent products.
