You can't always tell with love. And that is because sometimes you lose out completely in the game and at some other times you gain. Which incidentally is what is happening right now in the lives of some of our preachers of the gospel who lost their better halves at some point. Yes,
none of them prepared for it. But it did happen and upon getting hold of their lives again and putting their emotions together, they decided not
to just to forge ahead with their lives, but also take another shot at love. No doubt, they are enjoying their second missionary journeys into matrimony and below are how they all went
about it as well as the incidents that prompted it in the first instance, according to YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine findings:
APOSTLE ANSELM AND EMMY MADUBUKO:
Madubuko is the General Overseer of Revival Assembly Church, with the headquarters in Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos. From Orsumoghu in Ihiala LGA of
Anambra State, he had been married to Connie for over 20 years before the unexpected happened. Their union, at that point, was blessed with three grown up children: Velma, Sandra and
Anselm Jnr. Pastor Connie died on July 6, 2012 after suffering a heart attack. A year later; specifically on Saturday, August 31, 2013, and in far away
Kenya, Madubuko remarried. His choice this time – Emmy Kosgei, a music star who was then 33 years old. Though painful, it's obvious that love
has come the way of the handsome Apostle who trained as an architect at the University of Nigeria, Enugu campus again.
PASTOR TAIWO AND ROSEMARY ODUKOYA:
Odukoya, a 1981 Petroleum Engineering graduate of the University of Ibadan, founded the
Fountain of Life Church (in Ilupeju, Lagos) with his famous wife, late Pastor Bimbo and mother of
his three grown up children – Jimi, Tolu and Tobi. Pastor Bimbo's death via a plane crash in Port- Harcourt, Rivers State, on December 10, 2005,
however, separated them. Thus forcing Pastor Taiwo to try matrimony again on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. His new wife, Rosemary Simangele Zulu, a South African, has since given
him two more children (Timileyin and Jomiloju) to solidify their union. The creator of Discovery for Men and Heart to Heart, Odukoya, no doubt, is so
lucky to find love again – with all the good results now written all over him.
AYO AND HELEN ORITSEJAFOR:
The flamboyant preacher and President, Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN). Oritsejafor, also the frontman of Word of Life Bible Church,
headquartered in Warri, Delta State, lost his first wife, Ann years ago. And after getting over the shock, his second shot at love landed him in the
comforting arms of Helen, where he's no doubt found indescribable joy and happiness. Mama, like he fondly calls his new wife and love, is the CEO of Eagle Flight Microfinance Bank, Warri.
Blessed with a set of twins, Oritsejafor studied at the feet of the godfather of Pentecostalism in Nigeria, late Bishop Benson Idahosa. A proud Niger Deltan, he trained at the Nigerian Baptist Seminary in Osogbo, Osun State and Morris Cerrulo's School of Ministry, USA.
PASTOR WILLIAM AND ESTHER KUMUYI:
Kumuyi, from Erin Ijesha in Osun State, is the General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, which he founded in 1973. Born on June 6, 1941, the former university lecturer was married to Biodun and they were blessed with two boys (Jerry and John) until death put them
asunder in 2009. Of course, after mourning his wife for some time, he remarried in October 2010 to Esther Blaize, a church member who was in
charge of one of their foreign branches (in the United Kingdom). He is in his 70s and she is in her 60s. But even at that, it's still so glaring that
this respected servant of God is swimming in the ocean of love again. Happy and contented.
…THOSE WHO HAVE LOST OUT ON LOVE
They never planned for it. But providence chose it for them. They actually had love initially, but lost
it at some point. And that is talking about people like Bishop Bola Odeleke, Africa's first female
bishop and founder of Power Pentecostal Church who lost her husband, Brig. Gen. Lasun Odeleke
in a car crash in Abuja; Pastor Nkechi Iloputaife of Victorious Christian Centre whose husband, Anayo, also a preacher, was assassinated in 1995;
Bishop Margaret Idahosa, who succeeded her husband, Benson, at the Church of God Mission Inc. after his shocking death in 1998 and at the aged of 59; Pastor Roseline Oduyemi of Bethel Ministries whose husband, Gabriel was hitherto dubbed Nigeria's richest pastor. He died after a long battle with ill-health.
