Yoruba People Are The Most Sophisticated Nigerians, Says Ojo Madueke
Nigeria Ambassador to Canada, Mr. Ojo Madueke, has described the Yoruba as Nigeria’s most sophisticated people.
He was speaking to a gathering of Nigerians in Canada during an event organized by the Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG).
Mr. Madueke, who was quick to point out that this conclusion does not contradict his “Igboness,” further expressed the view that Nigeria benefits the most when the Yoruba are fully involved in governance, adding that as a former officer of the Biafra army, he knew what he was talking about.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Osita Okechukwu, has said the Nigerian elite are opposed to the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as president because they are aware he would wage unreserved war against corruption.

Oba of Lagos, His Royal Highness Rilwan Akiolu, has opened up on the role he played in the alleged bribery of some Yoruba monarchs by late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, to frustrate the struggle against the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election believed to have been won by late business mogul, Chief MKO Abiola.
The monarch said the traditional rulers collected the bribe from Abacha to assist the late Head of State to remain in office following the relentless protests that trailed his coming to power.The monarch, who was the Lagos State Police Commissioner at the time, said that with the exception of one or two traditional rulers, other prominent Yoruba Obas collected bribe from the Abacha administration, declaring that he personally shared the money to the monarchs.

Judge flees as thugs disrupt proceedings against Fayose
There was confusion on the premises of the Ekiti State High Court on Monday as hoodlums invaded the place to disrupt proceedings in a case challenging the eligibility of the Governor-elect, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, to contest the June 21 governorship election.
However, Fayose has since won the election.
The invasion took place shortly after the judge, Justice Olusegun Ogunyemi, refused an application to set aside an order abridging the time for the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate to file his defence in the case filed on behalf of socio-political group, Ekiti-11 by a member, Mr. Femi Ajakaiye.

Soldier detained for molesting, shaving pastor’s hair in Delta state
A soldier with 3 Battalion Effurun in Delta state, was yesterday September 22nd arrested by his command after he physically assaulted and shaved the hair of one Reverend Felix Omas, the General overseer and founder of Tower of Faith Ministries at Aleghor road checkpoint in Effurun, Delta state. Narrating his ordeal in the hands of the soldier, the elderly clergyman said;
“I was driving in my SUV, but due to the traffic situation, I boarded a tricycle. The soldiers stopped our tricycle as we were coming from Alegbor, forcibly seated me on the ground as one of them pulled a scissors and stroke three ugly cuts on my hair, saying my hair style violates their rules.”He said he could not protest the action of the soldier because he was carrying a gun. The soldier's command got wind of the his unruly action and arrested him. According to a military source in the battalion, the soldier will be charged for improper action.
