Why We Withdrew Tambuwal’s Security Details – Nigeria Police

Following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on whose platform he was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has redeployed security details comprising policemen attached to Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal.

There were speculations on Thursday that policemen and Department of State Security Services (SSS) operatives attached to the speaker, who is the number four citizen, for his personal security, had been withdrawn.

It was not clear who ordered the withdrawal as none of them reported to their duty posts at the speaker’s residence this morning.

Family Unable To Pay Hospital Bill After Giving Birth to Triplets

A couple with five children was recently blessed with a set of triplets.

The couple, now with eight kids – five boys and three girls – never envisaged going that far in child bearing.

But since circumstance had made it so, Mr. & Mrs. Ifeani Benjamin Amadu, from Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, have no option but to accept their fate.

Mrs. Amadu told our correspondent that three months into her pregnancy, she had gone for scan only to be told that she was carrying three babies in her womb, a revelation that threw her into fright.

Soon after she was delivered of the babies at Ajeromi General Hospital, Ajegunle, Lagos, on Saturday, October 27, 2014, the woman and her husband found themselves in a tight corner.

They had no money to offset their hospital bills, which stood at N150, 000.

Diezani Madueke's sister rescued after 8 days in kidnapper's den

The sister of Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke, Osiya Agama has been rescued by police in Port Harcourt eight days after she was kidnapped.

Mrs Agama was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on her way from an evening church on Tuesday October 21, at Leventis Bus-Stop along Port Harcourt-Aba Road, as she approached her car.  

The police said yesterday that she has been rescued. A text message from the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ahmad Mohammad, stated that she was rescued during a joint operation by the Police, Military And Operatives of the State Security Service.

 

The text reads;

“This is to inform you that Osiya Agama has been safely rescued during a joint operation by the Police, Military and the State Security Service. Two Suspects Were Arrested”.

The text didn't say where she was rescued from

Malala donates $50,000 to reconstruction of schools in Gaza

Nobel Prize winner and Pakistani education campaigner, Malala Yousafzai, has donated $50,000 towards the reconstruction of schools in war-torn Gaza in Palestine. Many public buildings and schools in the Gaza Strip were destroyed by Israeli warplanes and tanks during Gaza's recent conflict with Israel.

Malala made the donation yesterday Wednesday October 29th after receiving the World Children’s Prize for the rights of the child in Marienfred, Sweden. Speaking at the event, Malala said the money will be channeled through the United Nations relief agency UNRWA to help rebuild 65 schools in the Palestinian territory

Gospel Singer Yinka Ayefele Narrates How His Father Died

Nigerian gospel singer Yinka Ayefele narrated in an open interview how his father Pa Joshua Taiwo Fele, died on October 12.The sad news broke out weeks after the famous musician and his wife had welcomed their third child.Speaking recently with City People, Yinka said that his father, a renowned teacher in Ipoti Ekiti who rose to the post of Headmaster before his demise, knew he would die soon, which happened on the day of his 76th birthday.
When asked about how it happened, the singer said:
“I believe Baba (father) had premonition of his death, he knew he was going to die because he called me a week before his demise that he wanted to celebrate his birthday. I was very happy because he had never celebrated his birthday before. Even when he clocked 70, I wanted to celebrate his birthday for him, and I told him I want to put something together for him, and stopped me from doing it, because he was of the belief that anybody who celebrates birthday won’t live long. So I was very surprised when he called me to tell me that he is planning to celebrate his 76th birthday.”

Yinka disclosed that his father also called his siblings to invite them and called him again October 11, a day before the birthday.

All of a sudden a 12-year-old US boy stopped eating a year ago, and numerous doctors failed to identify what he is suffering from.

Landon Jones changed overnight and his appetite disappeared hours after he had eaten a delicious pizza and a bowl of ice cream.

He woke up October 14, 2013 to realize that he was not feeling either hungry or thirsty any longer, Daily Mail reports with reference to The Des Moines Register.

Landon, who used to be an active child, started suffering from dizziness throughout the whole day.

DEFECTION: PDP Can't Impeach Tambuwal Unless...

The leadership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP has admitted it may not that simple to unseat the Speaker of the House of Representative, Mr. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who recently defected to the All Progressive Congress.

The PDP on Tuesday acknowledged it may lack the two-third support which is required to force the speaker out, Premium Times reports.

To impeach the speaker, 240 out of the 360 members of the house would have to agree on the move and currently, the PDP leads with 189, while the APC has 159 members and the remaining slots is occupied by smaller opposition parties.

First Female Church Of England Bishop To Be 'Appointed Next Year'

The Church of England is likely to appoint its first female bishop in 2015, BBC reports.
The general secretary of the General Synod, William Fittall, said the body could pass an amendment to Canon law "in minutes" when it meets in November.
And positive discrimination could be used in the "rare" event of a dead-heat, he said.
The Church of England finally voted to allow women become bishops in July after a previous vote in 2012 failed.
According to BBC, he also said potential female candidates were already being prepared, with the system "gearing itself up" for change.

Panel Clears Oritsejafor, Asari Dokubo over $9.3m arms deal

A secret panel raised by the Federal Government has reportedly cleared the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ayo Oritsejafor, and Alhaji Mujahideen Asari-Dokubo of involvement in the $9.3 million arms’ deal.
 According to a statement by PRNigeria a media outfit close to security agencies,
“A special team, comprising security agents, intelligence experts and officials of the ministry of foreign affairs has investigated the $9.3 million cash-for-arms deal and submitted its report to the presidency.(continue)....

Couple get stuck together while having sex in the Sea

An Italian couple making love in the sea got stuck together.

The amorous couple frolicking on the deserted beach on a warm day,decided to take a dip in the ocean at Porto San Giorgio to express their love.

But their lovemaking came to an embarrassing end when the man was unable to pull himself from the woman due to suction.

According to Ilmattino,they remained in the water until they caught the attention of a woman walking along the beach, who gave them a towel after they struggled back to the shore.

A doctor was called and they were taken to a hospital emergency room. There the woman was given an injection usually used to dilate the uterus of pregnant women, in order to untangle the couple.

After collecting their N24m; PDP rejects 2 presidential aspirants bcos of Jonathan

A fresh crisis is brewing in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over insistence of some of its members to contest its presidential primary with President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the 2015 polls.

But the National leadership of the party has refused to sell the presidential nomination and expression of interest forms to two other presidential aspirants, keeping the only one form for President Jonathan.

The two aspirants, Dr. Abdul-Jhalil Tafawa-Balewa and Prof. Akasoba Duke-Abiola, were at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja on Tuesday to purchase the forms, but they were turned back.

First to arrive was Tafawa-Balewa, who hails from Bauchi State. He is also the son of Nigeria’s First Republic Prime Minister, the late Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa.

It will be recalled that all the caucuses of the party, including the National Executive Council had endorsed President Jonathan as its sole presidential candidate. 

Tafawa-Balewa had on September 21 condemned the action, which he said was a plot by the leadership of the party to frustrate other presidential aspirants.

Body of Diepriye Alamieyeseigha's late son flown into Nigeria

The body of Oyoms Alamieyeseigha, one of the sons of former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepriye Alamieyesegha, was flown into Abuja this evening October 28th from Dubai via Arik Air, on transit to Port Harcourt, as the family prepare to bury him.

The 30 year old man, who was schooling in Dubai, was found murdered there on Oct. 11th. Police initially said it was suicide but that has since been ruled out. Hopefully, the people behind his death will be captured.

This happened yesterday  afternoon. So D'banj's younger brother Kayswitch's baby mama, Meena Subramani, stormed his home in Lekki Phase1 this afternoon demanding to see him, but for some reason, the security guards wouldn't open the gates. Meena, who got there by taxi and was carrying their 7 months old baby, started banging on the gate, shouting at security men and screaming that KaySwitch should come out and face her. She made a lot of allegations as she was screaming but I will leave that out for now.

The house belongs to D'banj but he's currently not in Nigeria. Nobody came out of the house for the hour or so Meena was outside creating a scene. She has since left.

Dallas nurse Amber Vinson is free of Ebola, Emory Hospital says

Five days after nurse Nina Pham, the first direct transmission case of Ebola disease was declared free of the disease, a second nurse, Amber Vinson (pictured above) who also had contact with Thomas Eric Duncan, the man who took Ebola to America, has been declared free of the deadly virus.

Amber was declared free this afternoon October 28th by management of the Atlanta Emory Hospital where she had been undergoing treatment.

PDP reacts to Tambawal’s defection, asks him to resign

Aminu Tambuwal became Speaker of the House of Reps on the platform of the PDP but now that he has dumped the party for APC (he officially announced his defection today), the PDP is now asking him to resign. In a statement released today, the party asked Tambuwal to do the needful...

President of Zambia, Michael Sata, dies at 77

President of Zambia, Michaal Sata has died at the age of 77. He died yesterday October 28th at the King Edward VII hospital in the United Kingdom after suffering from an undisclosed ailment.

Born July 6 1937, Mr Sata was elected Zambia's President in September 2011. He is survived by wife Christine and 20+ children. May his soul rest in peace, Amen

Happy birthday to plane crash victim, Kechi Okwuchi

Beautiful Kechi Okwuchi is one of the only two survivors of the Sosoliso plane crash that occurred in December 2005. It's been almost 9 years since the accident and even though it's not been easy, Kechi is living her life and loving it through the mercy of God! Today, she marks a milestone, she's 25 year old! Happy birthday, Kechi. Wishing you many more beautiful years ahead.

Kechi's life changed forever in 2005 when she just 16. She and 60 other schoolmates from Loyola Jesuit College, a boarding high school in Abuja, boarded a Sosoliso plane headed to Port Harcourt for the Christmas holiday...but 20 minutes to landing, something went terrible wrong. The plane crashed and Kechi lost all her friends. She survived but was badly burnt. But that hasn't stopped her from living. She's a senior at the University of St. Thomas, a private Catholic college in Houston, Texas, USA. Happy, birthday once again Kechi. Keep inspiring!

Nigerian dad sues US school after daughter is banned over Ebola fears

A Nigerian father (pictured above) has sued a school in the US, Connecticut elementary school, saying his 7-year-old daughter was discriminated against and banned from school for 21 days based on irrational fears of Ebola because she attended a wedding in Nigeria.

Stephen Opayemi filed the lawsuit in federal court in New Haven, Connecticut. He asked a judge to order the schools in Milford, Connecticut, to immediately permit his daughter to return to her third-grade class.

Opayemi's daughter has not experienced any symptoms associated with Ebola and her health is fine, but parents and teachers were concerned she could transmit Ebola to other children, the lawsuit says.

Female banker dupes Lagos Govt.N6.6million

A female banker, Bola Ogunlowo, has been arraigned before a Lagos State Magistrates' Court for allegedly diverting N6.6m belonging to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA and Vehicle Inspection Office, VIO, for her personal use. Also charged with the 38-year old cashierworking with a new generation. bank was Omotayo Zachariah Adesola, 36, a resident of 22, Adetula Street, Mushin, Lagos State, alleged to have conspired with Ogunlowo to commit the offence.
The suspects were arrested by the police at the Bar Beach Division, Victoria Island, Lagos and after investigation, they were charged to court on a two-count charge of conspiracy to commit felony to wit, fraud and conversion.

Ghanaian singer Lady Jay's manager allegedly assaults her

Found this on popular page on instagram. She's a Ghanaian artist who was allegedly attacked by her manager. I went through her instagram, but she made no mention of the incident on her page so it's hard to say what really happened but according to reports from Ghana, the lady also known as Nancy was punched and headbutted by her manager following a disagreement over money. She is being treated at a military hospital while the police is said to be looking for the manager who has since gone into hiding.
